Want to know how many people told 2-1-1 Brevard they needed help with food, shelter or other basic needs in the past year, the past month or even yesterday? Want to know how many of those people live in a particular ZIP code, part of the county or legislative district?
Near real-time data now is available via an initiative called 2-1-1 Counts.
A “dashboard” at brevard.211counts.org can be customized to help document community needs and create reports for use by governments, nonprofits, service providers or anyone with an interest in community well-being.
“While we’ve generated monthly or annual or specially requested reports on callers’ needs for decades, this allows anyone to build a report that addresses their own questions when they need the answers,” said Libby Donoghue, 2-1-1 Brevard executive director.
2-1-1 Counts was created at Washington University in St. Louis and launched in Florida and North Carolina 2014. 2-1-1 Brevard data dating to mid-2015 was added.
A series of video tutorials are available at youtube.211counts.org or by clicking the red “play button” at the bottom of the dashboard.
